Taxe de Sejour is charged in resort on arrival at a rate of 1 euro per person per night. This is a compulsory tax paid by all tourists visiting Chamonix, and entitles you to a range of benefits, including free train travel in the valley. On arrival in Chamonix we take the details of your credit card as a security deposit against damages. This is not normally charged!
