Kenton and Charlotte in Courmayeur - New Year's Day 2010. Enjoying a well earned rest!
New Year’s day saw Andy, Charlotte, Kenton (Dream Guides) and Jazz head to Courmayeur to stretch the legs and drink some proper hot chocolate – Italian style!
We didn’t really know what to expect snow wise given the mixed weather of the last few weeks but came out of the tunnel to blue(ish) skies and a white looking backdrop so were hopeful.
Once on the slopes we were amazed, on piste conditions really couldn’t have been any better, and the off piste was also excellent fun – good soft powder, albeit fairly well skied by mid way through the day. Kenton and I got a bit ambitious at one point and tried the off piste at the bottom of the mountain which was a little wet, but overall we were amazed by the conditions – you couldn’t ask for must more.

Plenty of fun to be had - on and off the piste. Lots of fresh snow, and more on the way.
The weather came back in towards the end of the day and fresh snow was falling as we left, back through the tunnel to Chamonix and we were encouraged to see more of the same.
Lots of deals available for January ski trips and with conditions like this it would be well worth checking them out.
Happy new Year All
